Yeah. There’s a whole lot of people for whom 9k is a life altering amount of money to loose or receive.

You can put up collateral so you don't necessarily need to give them $9k in cash. So for most people they can use their car or some other assets

Yes because we can all just give up a vehicle valued at exactly 9k, or all the furniture in our house with zero impact.

what are you talking about? when you put up collateral they only come to collect if the person doesn't show up. Also if you pay the $9k and once everything is over you get that $9k back, again as long as the person doesn't run off

How many Canadians have $9.5k? Well, who knows really. How many households have at least $9.5k of financial assets?

StatsCan does know that one, and as of last quarter, only the bottom 20% of households have a net worth that wouldn't support that. So the answer is looking like at least 80% of Canadians.

Most poor people don't stab men to death so they don't have high bail, or get arrested.

Not all, but quite a few can come up with the money in time for bail.

This is in Canada we don't have bail bondsmen.
