Maybe he was just trying to save you? Think about it, if he was really jealousy driven, he would have done much worse. Plus, sending a weak Fae to come to you when he could have easily sent someone much stronger to finish you off without much talk seems weird. Plus, the Fae wasn't all that desperate to really repay his favour, if he was asked to kill you for fear of losing his own life or something precious to him, then you wouldn't be writing this right now.
