Maybe your husband has been replaced by some kind of (perhaps paranormal) impostor, that altered the memory of people who knew/were with your husband after his death?

That's my bet, but I have to find out more. Especially if I have a daughter I don't know about

His parents' town is several hours away. The police station is a small detour during my lunch break.
