A hair style that was disproportionally adopted by rappers in the 90s and 2000s perpetuating the thuggish stereotype, which if we're being honest is not entirely inaccurate. The people that find this offensive often interpret thug and black as synonyms which is arguably is way more problematic than people using the word thug.
