While I understand what you are saying, the conclusion of your opinion is that rehabilitation doesn’t happen. I’m not sure I like that nor agree

Rehabilitation does happen… but I’m pretty sure that it doesn’t happen if someone’s offenses are becoming worse. When you’ve recently graduated from mere property crime to sexual assault, you are NOT showing a proclivity to ceasing a life of crime anytime soon.

I’m not saying either one. I’m saying it’s an error to hold out ”wife and children” as a path forward for him at this time.

To me, a person like that has to prove he is OK with himself before ever considering putting him in a position of influence or authority. If he can somehow manage to turn it around, to learn what he needs to learn, then perhaps somewhere down the road he could become a useful family man.

Given his record I highly doubt it.
