The answer:

How do you define meaningful? Who with and about what are you hoping to discuss? If you take nothing else from the comment, take a recommendation to watch Avatar: The Last Airbender.

You answered a question with a question. If you're going to respond with a joke, at least an original one that isn't just quoting a piece of media would be nice. How is Reddit better for having these kinds of comments repeatedly?

Also, the person didn't recommend the show or even name it: how would I have known that this is a recommendation? It's just the laziest and most unhelpful comment.

If you’re going to post an article why don’t you post one that you wrote? How does it make Reddit better to read a story about rotting cabbages? What about this story makes it appropriate for this sub?

Reddit is “the front page of the internet”. I find it reassuring to see others reference relevant cultural icons that I think will guide the world to a better place.

What about this article suggests it would be satirical if it weren’t real?

koavf OP t1_iwh0vum wrote

It is absurd. Not everything that The Onion publishes is satire. Message boards are not better off for a raft of comments that are just quotations of an existing piece of media, especially when someone else has already made the same lazy comment.

Ahh. There’s that bad faith again. This article isn’t even absurd. It’s actually quite substantial. Use better judgement when posting articles to this sub.

That doesn't answer my question. Look at the thread you are in: you called something bad faith that wasn't even a question. The fact that you are paying no attention to the thread itself and blithely writing "bad faith" with no comprehending of what the term means or what is written in the thread is itself bad faith.

I have good faith that those who understand the joke will appreciate it. I hope you find some humor in your day and that we can stop bantering about someone else’s cabbages.
