Can I just say more people need to hear what the judge said:

"We don't get to say and do whatever we want to say without the consequences of those actions. And so that's where your client finds himself today. He exercised his rights, I'm exercising my right to give him a consequence for that. Nothing that any of us do in this life is without consequence."

Also, guy seems like a peach. I laughed when even his lawyer admitted that maybe a mental health evaluation wouldn't be a bad idea...

What she said doesn't really make sense.

He was getting tried for assault. You don't have a right to assault someone.

The first charges were public intimidation from making threats against jews. The suspect in this case claims it is protected speech. This is more or less her response to that, not the officer he later assaulted.

Sounds like a pretty wise and safe idea to keep him out of society for awhile.

That’s a pretty fair reaction to give when you hear you’re going to spend the next couple years in prison
