Common problem with this statue. It's so common that if you call 911 to report something which fits they will double check.

What gets me is that they bitched at the gallery staff for the art.

Why are they breaking into banksys former agents office…

Yes, but there is no need for lecturing about it. Which is what the article says happened. If that is the case, that was inappropriate. Making a comment that it would be best if changed is one thing, lecturing is uncalled for.

Did they shoot her to make sure? If it was the US, they'd make sure, none of this London fussiness!

I get that not a whole lot of people read the article, but are we really at the point where people aren’t even getting all the way through the title? The answer to your question is the second half.

>She said they told her that “somebody reported that the woman here has not been moving for the last two hours” and that the officers assumed the figure had “a heart attack or she’s overdosed.”

>The sculpture, which can be seen publicly through the gallery’s window, has surprised people before. When the work appeared at London art and design fair Decorex in October, paramedics were called, according to Blakemore.

You expect someone to read past a comma? Seriously though, this is the worst example of this I’ve seen. Then he follows up with an insult. Idiocracy is becoming more real everyday.

The cops weren't fooled though. The headline is misleading.

Metropolitan Police received a call at 5.32 p.m. about a person who appeared to be unconscious inside Laz Emporium, the gallery on Soho’s Lexington Street

“officers forced entry to the address, where they uncovered that the person was in fact a mannequin,”

Seems like they did their job. Somebody calls the police, they have to go check it out.

I remember a story I read once about the cops being called by a couple of people who thought they saw a baby in a dumpster. When the cops got there and dug it out it turned out to be a burrito.

Making fun of your sister for doing something embarrassing by immortalising the moment in art. That kind of brotherly love.

I don’t know if that’s what he was going for but it seems like a pisstake to me of the best kind.

The work is designed to provoke a reaction. I guess police breaking in is a compliment then.

I agree to an extent.

Doesn't there have to be a limit somewhere.

Like if there was a publicly displayed art exhibition that looked so realistic and depicted a situation requiring police intervention?

If this becomes a common issue then there should at least be a process where police and emergency responders are notified of such an exhibit.

Maybe I'm just not thinking about it through the right lense, but this isn't a case of police saying what can be done in a gallery.

The argument is that this is a waste of resources and could lead to actual crimes in this area not being taken seriously, right?

Obviously her face down demeanor meant she had one of those new desk guns where you use your face to turn a desk into a gun.

They had to shoot her.

How else could they have made sure that they were safe?

Companies are people too.

People that can't go to jail or face any long-term consequences and they intentionally commit the largest number of crimes in the world and steal the most money from people and ruin the most lives.

But they are people too. We can't forget that. It's the corner stone of society.

Won't someone please think of the poor shareholders. They need a second yacht so their dog can travel with them in style.

Yes. I have been in multiple threads on the last week where the comment or is vehemently arguing with other people about things clearly stated in the title.

At least one guy admitted that he stopped reading the title halfway through.

The only problem with burritos that size is those idiots at Chipotle not warning me when I'm approaching maximum tortilla capacity, and so half of the toppings fall out.

ffs man, I wouldn't have got the cheese if I knew it wouldnt fit. I wouldn't have gotten half of it.

Why are tents an issue? Where do you want them to go and where should they be sleeping if not in a tent?

And what exactly should they do if they have diseases? Should they just die? I don't get it.
