They needn't have sent out a message at all - nobody wants a mass message from their doctor's office or dentist. Spamming people only opens you up to mistakes. They happen more often than you think, only usually it's something more harmless (such as forgetting to change the year).

I was there at the time and got the text. My dumb ass was picturing a small missile like the ones that fire at planes in the movies, so I was like "ah ok we should be fine" the whole time
