More mushrooms growing wild, more people harvesting those mushrooms, more people mistaking edible varieties for toxic ones.

This is why multiple subreddits have rules against identifying plants as edible. People make mistakes. Frequently.

I know a man who is a leading fungal expert in a couple different states and he insists on trying everything that he identifies as edible, before anyone else. So that he doesn't take that chance with someone else. It is easy to mistake.

Is anyone else being repeatedly directed here despite clicking multiple unrelated posts on different subreddits? Everything I click leads here.

I've had similar things happen from time to time. No idea if it is planned or a glitch.

It's a bug. If you're on mobile, head into settings>apps>reddit and force stop the app. Relaunching it often fixes the problem. If that doesn't work a quick uninstall and reinstall ought to sort you out.

Finally fixed it by clearing the app data, seems like this app has a lot of stuff that needs fixed. I've gotten used to having to restart the app a few times just to read notifications

The article says "The number of mushroom poisonings increased by 25% in Switzerland last year compared with 2021. However, the national poison hotline dealt with fewer suicide attempts." The only connection I can figure out between these two topics is that suicidal people relieve their stress by picking mushrooms except they're not very good at it.

I mean what you got to go out into the woods and dig around in the dirt and then I the end you get to eat mushrooms...

that seems like a really bad deal.
