Nah, then we might accidentally agree to universal healthcare directly leading to helping poor people.

DeepThought45 t1_j5eg29v wrote

Don’t worry about that, the UK government is selling the NHS piece by piece to the private sector. Healthcare staff are striking, 100s of people are dying due to shortages each weak and they want to charge for GP and A&E visits now. Conservatives are very good at selling us out to the rich here too!

As severely opposed to maga as I am I have no idea what you’re taking about. Did you read somewhere that maga is pushing for child labor?

Are children cleaning drag queens in secret top office maga meetings?

Without even reading the article I'm gonna boldly guess they weren't middle class white kids.

In the video and accompanying paperwork, the company claims the kids were hired by a "rogue individual" ... They didn't mention their socioeconomic backgrounds but something tells me you're probably right

commandrix t1_j5cadrq wrote

It could've started that way, but the higher-ups were equally at fault for not checking. At best, you look ignorant and incompetent if you're a senior manager or C-suite professional and don't know what's going on in at least your own department.

...and then all the kids from on-site daycare disappear for the night to go on a field trip (I know the youngest was allegedly 13). It is ok though as Bob from accounting and Pat from HR are making sure they're having fun and following OSHA standards.

Ha! Yea, conservatives saying nobody wants to work anymore is a running joke amongst my friends. I'm a builder so I'm in HD way more than I want to be. It's a shit place to work. Bottom dollar, high stress, and constant turn over. Of course nobody wants to work there.

Your boss would make you work 12 hour days if they were allowed to.

Make no mistake, there is no fundamental difference between capitalism in America and capitalism everywhere else.

The only difference is that thousands of people fought for the labor rights you enjoy today, and if you're not fighting for them today, you can lose them very quickly.

I see what you're trying to say. But most of the world is not doing better than the U.S in terms of regulating capitalism. Sadly. Guessing you live somewhere in Europe. That's good for you.

Take a look at Latin America, Africa, Southeast Asia, West Asia, China, Middle East, Eastern Europe (most of the world by population). And you will find rampantly unregulated, capitalist influenced politics across the board. You will find actual slavery. Human rights abuse. Corruption. Ecological destruction. Massive socioeconomic stratification. All on a level much more intense than what can be found in the U.S.

Places like India, Philippines, China, Brazil, Mexico, Russia, just to name a few big ones that come to mind. People immigrate from these places to the U.S and it aint for the good weather.

This coming from a Canadian, which, while we try to run a mixed system here also, people still get exploited a bit on the lower end of the pay scale.
