I think a lot of you are thinking this was a neonazi or proud boy - I think this is someone trying to call the cops Nazis.

In any event it’s scratched into the sidewalk so hastily I don’t think it was premeditated. Seems like some stupid shit edgy preteens would do without realizing how impactful their actions could be.

Preteen for sure. You can see Sage Junior HighSchool across the street in the picture.

That's possible, but there are other swastikas drawn other places. I hope it's a childish prank that they didn't realize would be so harmful, but Forest Hills is still a heavily Jewish neighborhood, and I won't rule out this was done to target the Jewish community here.

Or it could be antisemites targeting a heavily Jewish neighborhood.

Yea, we absolutely have to be vigilant about that and antisemitism is a real problem - but like normally that manifests in spray painting synagogues or throwing rocks at kosher stores. Actions that are more damaging and imply some level of premeditation (eg getting spray paint).

I’m just speculating here, but this smells like kids doing something stupid on a dare. A police station is a weird place to target antisemitic vandalism. You can barely see this so in terms of impact it’s pretty low (it is probably already gone with a quick hose down of the sidewalk). And it looks like they just grabbed a paver and carved it into the sidewalk so likely didn’t bring any tools of their own to do this. Just doesn’t check out as something an actual antisemite would do.

Cops got bored during their lunch break.

So you think cops did this? In front of a precinct with surveillance cameras. Because that totally wouldn’t have consequences. Edgy comment though.

We'll see who really did it when the video surfaces,

And then nothing will happen regardless. Im not being pessimistic, it’s just time and time again this happens around nyc and I have yet to see any tangible action taken once an investigation is opened, if it is.

Not that I condone this shit, but they used chalk on a sidewalk. What tangible action could possibly be taken here? No property damage, and we have free speech.
