In the video it looks like it happened in the projects.

It's pretty amazing that there are projects across the street from Lincoln Center.

ETA: Apparently that area was slums and Robert Moses cleared them in order to build Lincoln Center, but even he couldn't demolish a NYCHA housing project.

Because if Lincoln Center were there first, it would be prohibitively expensive to build projects there.

But it wasn't. It was a slum area.

Never prohibitively expensive if the city / state owns the land, but I get your point.

Personally I think it’s best to have the housing throughout the city since folks in NYCHA work all over the city
