There's a tiny button on the side of each door, you push it and the door pops open a tiny bit, and then you just pull it open the rest of the way.

They didn't change the design to be easier to use. They changed it to improve aerodynamic drag (less drag = less power needed = more battery range).

Always kind of makes me laugh when car manufacturers make trade offs like this. I know the Mustang is supposed to be fast but it’s not a fucking formula one car.
