Reply to comment by iliveoffofbagels in A-train scam?! by Cachesystem

This happened to me today (10/25/22). I got off the air shuttle train and an MTA employee said that’s what it costs.

Okay, I see what’s going on here. The way the Airtrain is set up, you’re supposed to pay when you exit, not when you enter. So you’re supposed to pay $8 for the Airtrain ride, plus the $2.75 for the subway. If you didn’t pay the $8, by leaving through an emergency gate or something like that, you actually (unintentionally) scammed them, not the other way around.

Nah, I think you misunderstood what I said. I left the air train the way everyone else did and then they tried charging $10.75 for the A train. So I walked to Aqueduct and paid only $2.75. The MTA is charging $10.75 despite it being owned by NY & NJ. Somehow it’s legal but I don’t see how it is.

You definitely misunderstood something. They did not attempt to overcharge you. You either managed to exit without paying the Airtrain fare, or paid it without realizing (did you swipe your Metrocard at any point)?

Yo I got monthly. Arlene, I got places to be bro so I don’t got time to refill shit. It’s once a month and I’m good. So I’m not getting charged a cent and they ain’t getting $8 or $10.75. They can get their mom down here to lick my forehead and let me through.

AirTrain is $8 on exit if you are coming from the airport at Howard or Jamaica stations. You either pay directly or through your metrocard. Seems like you may have lucked out with an MTA employ that didn't care, or as Arleare13 said, might have paid without realizing it. If you are transferring directly to the subway line it will be $10.75 (2.75 subway fare + 8 Air Train fare). If you are just leaving it would be $8. If you are just entering the A Train off the street, it's just 2.75.

edit: personally I do feel it's a "scam" in that it's $8 for the AirTrain, but shiiieeeeet they really know how to work that supply and demand. Not so much a scam that it's 10.75 for airtrain + subway

How about this I’m gonna go back there this week. I’m gonna figure this shit out and if I’m right with pictures and all I’m gonna buy myself a pizza. Why? Because blowjobs=happiness/(time*money) but pizza=(time(in minutes)-money)*happiness (pizza is always greater than 1 and blowjobs are between 0 and 1). LMAO. FUCK THE MTA!!

Honestly... just save the money and buy your self the pizza right now. Rather you use the money for some slices than the MTA get it for no reason.

Love your pizza formula.

The pizza formula works with other things. It’s actually the formula for all forms of straight sex. If you’re a gay man then the formula doesn’t work at all. In fact, the formula is illogical if you are a gay man. I guess we should instead call all “homophobic” people “envious” since they are envious that fucking comes that easy. 😂🤣😂🤣
