Delivery drivers get tickets all the time. Companies like UPS and FedEx have expected costs for tickets and go as far as to negotiate prepaid rates with parking agencies.

Having one person drive deliver hundreds of packages is better than having hundreds of people go out and buying stuff.

What do you want to do, ban deliveries?

You’re forgetting about the insane amount of placards used by city employees to park wherever the fuck they want.

As a city employee, this shit pisses me off like no other

That's the cost of doing business. As people keep buying shit delivered to their doors its gonna be like this. UPS even implemented the mini-truck electric bike things and people on this sub still bitched about it. In 50 years we can have drones that deliver to our roofs I guess.

there are just waayyyy too many people, but more specifically cars in the city. The city needs some sort of major infrastructure overhaul that would probably be impossible due to how disruptive it would be.

When Delivery drivers park in the middle of the damn road its annoying but i also dont know what else theyre supposed to do. Everything is too congested

It’s called paid parking all over the city, congestion pricing, increased bus service and bus lanes. This is what London did and the bus is a fast and easy way to get around the city (where subways don’t serve well)

Nyc is too car oriented. This is also why New Yorkers live in filth and rats — not willing to give up free parking for dumpsters

Get people to give up cars and a lot more improvements to the city are possible

I dream of a carless NYC. The worst is when I see people getting out of their cars, moving the "open streets" blockades, and drive down them any way. Seen in it in Williamsburg, on St. Marks, all over the place.. Certainly a city run by the cars and it fucking sucks

London isn’t even carless and Brits love cars — it’s just transit oriented enough to have good traffic and no trash on the street. Get enough traffic off the street so busses run on time

Vehicles with NYS Commercial plates are allowed some kind of leniency with deliveries

"In most situations, a driver may stand a commercial vehicle alongside a vehicle parked at the curb at such locations and during such hours that stopping, standing, or parking is not prohibited, while expeditiously making pickups, deliveries or service calls, provided that (1) there is no unoccupied curb space within 100 feet on either side of the street that can be used for standing, and (2) that the standing is in compliance instructions from police officers and flagpersons."

It’s not really free. They can eat tickets all day, that’s why they don’t bother to move the trucks. Lol
