NYC museums are world class. The met MoMA and Guggenheim are my favorites.

Don't worry about safety. NYC is very safe, you're fine. Everything is fine. Don't even think about it again. Turn off Fox News or idiot youtubers or any of that crap.

3 museums is a whole lotta museum time. Each one is pretty big, especially the Met and natural hustory (MoMa is smaller).

I'd recommend the Met as the overwhelming #1, and then only do a second one if you have to have more museum time. MoMa is for if you really really just want to see more art, Natural History is geared a bit more towards kids, and frankly I think unless you feel like you have to go, skip and and enjoy something else in town

I appreciate the speedy response. Coming from Chicago and knowing how cold it can get with the lake being here I can only imagine how cold it would be on a boat to visit the statue in the middle of a body of water. Will definitely keep this in mind when making our decision

Get a giant winter coat. Dressing in layers is kind of bullshit since you'll be constantly going from freezing streets to warm subways, taxis, stores, etc. You can then just take your coat off.

Thanks for the response! Coming from Chicago, we receive the same treatment from the media trying to instill fear so I’ll definitely be paying less attention to what gets pushed on there. Definitely taking your advice regarding the museums and will consider other things that we can explore throughout the city.

Times Square is fine well into the night if you don't look like an easy mark. NYC characters might approach you but just keep walking. Don't stare at your phone or be drunk and walking back to your hotel at 3am. So much bad news about the trains these days. If there's calm people on a platform, you can be calm too. If you're alone or don't like something you see bail and grab a cab. Or just take cabs after 11pm. I'd skip the statue, takes too much time plus as said it will be cold.
