How hilarious would it be if everything they tried actually made it better

right? Like, what a weird target. Some professional Russian hacker doing a sidejob for his cousin who drives a cab in Queens?

Over the years many of the airport taxi dispatchers have been busted for accepting bribes for doing this in less sophisticated ways so it’s not shocking someone found a tech way

It’s all about leveling the playing field in big ways and small ways. This is a small way. But also it’s a question of where the ill gotten gains are being funneled to.

Though gotta say, I dig the ingenuity.

Yeah, but they don’t have the power they once had. They’re all pill popping juice heads now.

So...hypothetically... $10 x 1000 times = $10,000/day or $3,650,000/yr

Everyone's pointing out the mildness of the crime but sounds pretty lucrative nonetheless and I wonder how much was lost by non cheating taxis being cut in front of considering an airport ride like, what, $70?

Used to dispatch at LGA. Article is a little bit sensationalized but can confirm the business of skipping the line is very lucrative. Honestly the software has so little utility and functionality that I'm surprised they had such a big thing going on. I guess the drivers wouldn't know that though.

What a smart idea why didn't I think of that.

What I want to know is how did they collect the money. Did they have the cab drivers venmoing them
