snow if you live in Buffalo. For NYC, it's going to be drenching rains Thursday night into Friday, followed by heavy wind and an arctic plunge for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Um, sure, that's her name.

So, rain for New York City. Not what I'd call a major winter storm.

Everyone on /r/asknyc and /r/travel trying to make a self transfer between EWR and JFK on two separate itineraries is about to find out why it's cheaper to book that way.

Do yourself a favor and don't venture into the comments section on that article.

Non-partisan discussion from NOAA copied below. > Outside of small timing differences, the global models remain in good agreement in wrapping up low pressure across the Ohio Valley and Great Lakes Thursday night into Friday, sending a strong frontal system across the area. In addition, there is a strong signal of a warm frontal wave and heavy warm conveyor belt rains moving up the eastern seaboard Thursday night. The trailing cold front moves across the area Friday, then drying out Friday night. NBM is showing a period of pre-warm frontal and post-cold frontal winds closing in on 40 kt. Guidance also supporting 1-2 inches of rainfall with the potential for localized higher amounts.
