I work in a school. I don’t think we check anyone’s vaccination status when they come visit.

I do too and we don’t check at my school nor my kids’ school. Only once I had to show proof when I went in for a parent engagement but I’ve never been asked before.

I have no clue why people still think vaccine stops the spread. There is ZERO evidence supporting this. We know that it helps with serious cases, but even this is questionable for the most recent variants, which are better at getting around the vaccine's protection. A vaccinated person has the exact same ability to spread the virus as an unvaccinated person, so the children are not "super spreaders".

This is pretty stupid, considering that (1) as one other commenter points out, the students themselves aren’t required to be vaccinated, and (2) the existing policy only requires visitors to have one shot of a vaccine with no time limitation. So a parent with only one dose of Moderna from 2021 is allowed in.

Polio vaccines are required at all the public schools in NYC but I think it's a good idea.

You're the guy who follows YouTube videos. If you were in charge back in the day, we'd all be dying of smallpox and polio.

If the tv told you to peacefully and safely walk across a bridge without jumping off to your death from either impact or drowning or a combination of both, what would you do?

Bubblygal124 t1_j5895jv wrote

Of course it is but parents don't have to show proof of vaccination though

Wow, vaccines required at schools? What a new and novel concept that certainly did not exist before the pandemic.

“Parents and guardians who refuse to get vaccinated still cannot attend school functions inside city Department of Education buildings, and some are calling for the policy to end as other Covid restrictions have been dropped and the third anniversary of the pandemic nears.

Nearly 1,500 have signed on to a petition started by one Queens mom calling on Mayor Adams and Schools Chancellor David Banks to allow unvaccinated people access into schools.

Eight City Council members wrote a letter to Adams and Banks as well as city Department of Health and Mental Hygiene Commissioner Ashwin Vasan calling for the mandate to be lifted as well. The order comes from the DOHMH.”
