There's plenty of dive bars in the East village with pool tables. Generally $2 a game

A short list: Monas, Sophie's, Josie's, Lucy's, B-side, Spotted Owl, Parkside, Blue & Gold, Ace Bar, Cherry Tavern, Doc Holliday's.

I'm sure there's some in Hell's Kitchen too.

Bars i like with coin tables: Alibi on dekalb, Sophies or blue and gold in the east village, Denny’s on church and mcdonald in kensington, the levee in williamsburg, thebrooklyn inn in boerum hill.

One interesting place that’s more of a pool hall is ocean’s at flatbush and 7th, with ping pong, air hockey, food, shows all the games.

Most of the tables listed here are shitty valley bar boxes. In Hell's Kitchen there's only one pool bar, Blue Ruin, they have a very nice Diamond table.

I'm gonna be honest, if your aim is practice, it's definitely gonna be cheaper to go to a pool hall in Brooklyn and pay by the hour than it is to pay $2 for every 15 balls.
