Looking for book recommendations that focus on retirement and general personal finance. I have read millionaire next store, all of dave ramseys stuff, and rich dad poor dad. Would appreciate any suggestions.

One of the best resources I've found isn't a book, but a podcast called Big Picture Retirement. Start at the beginning, as what they discuss tends to build on prior knowledge.

Mad Fientist is good for those looking to tax optimize and FIRE. The wiki here has good recommendations for reading -- Simple Path to Wealth is an easy read. Something else not stressed enough: Get it together - organize your records so your family won't have to (Cullin, part of the NOLO series). Two free books: https://paulmerriman.com/millions-downloads/

These are my favorite ones for retirement:

  • How To Make Your Money Last by Jane Bryant Quinn
  • The Five Years Before You Retire by Emily Guy Birken
  • How To Plan for the Perfect Retirement by Dana Anspach (The Great Courses)
  • Retirement Planning Guidebook by Wade Pfau
  • The New Retirement Savings Time Bomb by Ed Slott
  • Living Off Your Money by Michael McClung
  • The Wealthy Gardner by John Soforic

Possibly too simple for where you’re at, but if you don’t have a budget plan that you’re 100% happy with already, then I highly recommend You Need a Budget by Jesse Mecham. It changed the way I think and feel about budgeting.

The Richest Man in Babylon. Money management isn't complicated. The old ways are simple and still work best.

Don’t overlook “How to Make Your Money Last” by Jane Bryant Quinn. A good overview of the nuts and bolts of retirement.
