It is a real thing, but lots of people can't do it for one reason or another.

It's also possible to be deferred from donating for no fault of your own and not be able to go for weeks so you can't really budget for the money.

I did it pretty solidly for almost 10 years.

One solid reason which I know is if they have tattoo or they got inked in their body then they aren't capable enough to give their plasma
