Yeah I wish there were renderings.

If there were renderings it would look good then in person it will look like shit. I wish there was a law that they had to follow the renderings 100%. Including where the garbage is stored and where the cars park.

Idk… seems like it would be a missed opportunity to put windows there. River views would rent for a premium and windows just make for nicer units.

Wow have been wondering when something would happen to this building. Glad to see it is being preserved. Brick is beautiful, even if it’s just a giant rectangle

ah yes, who wouldn't want to live above hundreds of drunk, mollyed out teenagers blasting EDM every weekend and sucking down nitrous balloons on Del Ave? The gas station chicken next door is bomb though.

Is there an EDM club around there?
CassetteTaper t1_j732c8u wrote
Yeah the whole first floor was Egypt in the 90/00s, Soundgarden in the teens, some failed thing after, and now "The Ave" which blasts dubstep and usually has a few balloon vendors out front every weekend, place is a shitshow!

Good to know. I do enjoy EDM music when I go out, but I haven’t been able to find a good place yet, I tried NOTO a couple of times but the dance floor is small and I would question the age of some of the party goers being above 18. I’m 30 so I was hoping to find a decent EDM place with people around my age.

The Ave > NOTO.
Don't know what you're into genre wise but https://edmtrain.com/philadelphia-pa lists of a lot of/most electronic stuff happening in Philly, I add missing ones I come across too!

i live a few blocks away from there but had no idea about "The Ave"... your comment explains a very, very strange happening out front of my house a few weeks back.

Haha that actually seems like a great time! Thanks for putting it on my radar

The Ave is fun. Not a fan of the balloons though.

I wonder how many different names that place has had over the years.

Honestly this is great. New housing in an area that sorely needs it, right near a train station. Hopefully this spurs continuous development along the waterfront. I am all for revival of the formerly lively areas of the city which were severed by the construction of I-95. We can always paint a new mural…

You have me up until the last 4 words lol. I'm chaining myself to that flag mural before they tear it down!
