I’ve lived in Germantown my whole life .. and I know people save spots but usually when they’ve dug it out in the snow.

This house on my block is being rehabbed and the workers seem to think they’re entitled to saving a spot right in front of the house.

I move them every time because uh NO.

Is there something stating they can do this legally while working orrr ?

Thanks !

Not without a temp parking permit. Keep moving their shit.

This happens all the time. Construction workers down the street from me literally fenced in two parking spaces so they could leave their cars there while they were working.

Well, they do need to have deliveries of materials. It’s temporary.

Damn, 5 months to rehab a house? This is the work I do. They must suck or the house was really bad. I’m curious though. You are home all day watching them. This means they aren’t taking parking from you. You move whatever barriers yet they are still able to get those spots daily. This means they aren’t taking spots from anyone. I’m not sure I understand the issue.

The house next to me has been 2+ years. No permits and they don’t pay taxes on it either. The contractors suck and I think the owner stops paying them because they show up for 2 weeks and never come back.

The answer to your question is, of course, no, without a temp closure or temp no-parking permit, the latter of which is fairly easy to obtain for small periods of time.

I would be curious if they have a temp closure permit. Also, some contractors used to stage on the street and use it to park during the day. Harder to enforce this issue, but it's become less of a "problem" since materials are much more likely to be stolen.

The only way I think this is acceptable is if the construction workers are getting a huge delivery or demo which requires a large dump truck.

Sounds like you belong in a HOA. Your neighbor not paying their taxes is between them and the city. The city will eventually get its money and it’s none of your business. It doesn’t effect you. Now, give me another downvote.
