I have an appointment booked in April (soonest available) with someone in Rittenhouse but just want to see if there are other options I may have missed out on. Also I am brown and haven’t had the best luck with derms in the past, any black or POC doctors would be so great!

Edit: concerns are dry skin and acne.

Dermatology of Philadelphia/Mohs surgery center. Dr Dasgupta and Dr Abdelmalek are 10/10 amazing. I got in so quickly and both doctors explained everything so well.

Not cc, but I went to dermatology partners. Its at rhawn and the blvd. The dr was a very nice Indian woman, if that helps.

Dr. Jih at Schweiger Dermatology was really helpful to me when working through some acne issues.

Ringpfeil is great. Super quick and professional check up. Biopsy was painless and PA Kristin (I think that was her name) was super professional and so was everyone else in the office. They lean towards cosmetic stuff but I never felt pressured once to try anything.

To you, OP, and anyone: watch out for a “facility fee” at Perlman, which applies if the practice you’re visiting is considered to be a separate entity from the hospital itself but is located within its walls. I got charged $1200 for a routine ENT appointment and actually had to pay it. I needed to go to a doctor that didn’t take my insurance and planned to pay what wasn’t covered for an out of network doc, but never saw that type of bullshit coming. I’ll never go back to that building if I can help it.

This applies to other hospitals that host outside practices too, for the record, but Perlman fucked me personally.

Seconded! I saw a different derm for accutane which didn't take and probably saw 4-5 other derms since my teenage years, as I've always struggled with acne. Dr. Milkchak saw me through my second course of accutane last year and her approach was much better. She also helped me sort out what I need for an ongoing skincare regimen at the end of my course. My skin has never looked better - I highly recommend!

She also let me take advantage of tele-health visits after the first three visits because my co-pay is waived for those!

I found that she really heard me and worked with me to try different things and helped me understand along the way.

I saw her for about 8 months for treatment for a couple of stubborn warts and treatment was ultimately successful (after years of trying at home/with other derms).

Plus it was easy to get an appointment and they took my insurance
