This is such a fun and technical bit to hit on a mountain bike. This is right at the concrete tube/wall ride, up a little techy quick climb, and then right past this you go over a large concrete tube/pipe. Right?

If I remember correctly it’s right where the MTB trail diverges from the no-bikes-allowed trail, which goes through the pass pictured. So if I’m correct, you shouldn’t be riding it. But I may well be wrong.

And the new “improved” trail signage in the Wiss is so bad that you can very easily end up on a no-bikes trail even while making a good effort to follow the signs…happens to me at least once every time I ride there.

I had exactly the same though. I went left by accident once, and first thought "This tube is kind of dangerous on a bicycle" before coming across another trail fork where I spotted a "no bikes" sign.

I turned back and felt like a dick all the way back to the MTB trail.

Don't feel like a dick. The signage is spotty and confusing at best, and often misleading or outright nonexistent. I regularly refer to my Gaia app while riding because there's no other way to know which trail I'm supposed to be on.

Ah. I haven’t rode the Wiss in a couple years now. If I remember correctly the trail after this pass and concrete tube it splits to a no bike trail. It’s been a minute though.

Yup! Right behind where the pic was taken is that tube.

Oh yeah. During COVID shutdowns, like many of us, the Wissahickon became a refuge, a place of peace and normalcy. Knowing the trails like the creases on our palms.

Agreed. Beer is awesome.

Orange Trail almost directly below the Toleration Statue. Best accessed via Kitchen’s lane entrance or Hortter St off of Park Line drive.
