Granted I usually just stop in to look at toys & collectibles when I’m in the area for work but Brave New Worlds seems to have a pretty good selection of comics.

Johnny Destructo's Hero Complex in Manayunk is smaller, but it's worth checking out.

I'll add the guy who's usually behind the register is very nice and is willing to explain things to someone like me who's getting into comics later in life

Atomic City Comics on South Street is pretty good for both the superhero and indie stuff.

Glad to learn that FatJacks is still in business. I had heard the owner was struggling to keep the shop going during COVID.

Brave New Worlds in Old City, (55 N 2nd St), is great. Really nice crew there and and a fantastic selection. The owner turned me on to BRZRKR when it came out.

Never been but I saw one on Ontario when I was driving. Ontario Street Comics.

All of these suggestions are great. If you’re willing to venture a bit into the Main Line, Showcase Comics is a 3 min walk from the Bryn Mawr regional rail stop and they have a huge collection of back issues as well as a well curated collection of trades.

I’ve only ever walked by it, Blue Line Collectables, in South Philly.

Atomic City is probably the best in the city now (7th and South).

Brave New Worlds has an outpost on 2nd Street just below Arch. Kind of small, but was featured in M. Night Shyamalan's Glass!

There was a comic shop called the Garden of Earthly Delights In the NE close to Oxford circle I went to when I was a kid. I think they moved further up in the NE

They're closing if they haven't already shut down

This is the one I was referencing, terrible they were shutting down, when I lived around there they would just let high school kids hang out and not hassle them for reading for free or “loitering” more than any fucking Philly politicians done for the children of Philly.

This. I was in high-school when they first opened. I became really close along with my friends to Ariel and the others. I used to volunteer for them a lot for free comic book day. Fun times. Gonna miss them all and everything in between.
