Penrose for cheap, Scannicchio’s for some good food (byob) as well. But don’t waste time at Kindys, whatever you think it is or what it was as a kid it’s not anymore. Save yourself the disappointment.

If you hit Kindy's, try to get to Smedley and Colorado Streets just off Oregon Ave also - it's close. Excellent Christmas light blocks.
