They're larger. The "right" size for my car Is 245/40. I have 45s. Never had an issue with them. Not sure what to do now.

This is such BS. If there's no treadwear, (edit) and not rubbing the body/frame, it should pass. You're probably getting better gas mileage with that size too. Looks like they're trying to sell you new tires, the shop can resell your current used tires, if you disposed with them.

They're are plenty of folks with aftermarket rims/tires and pass inspection without having to revert their wheels to stock.

I can recommend you a place that does a good inspection, and done in ~30 mins. Just send me a DM.

See that's the thing. I told them I'm buying and installing my own tires, so they have nothing else to gain from me.
