I don’t even know what month it is anymore, but apparently we’ve still got December left!

Let us know what concerts, comedy gigs, etc you are attending next month. There seems to be a lot of themed events going on at bars too, so if you’re interested in something feel free to add that too.

Fillmore Club Pass update- I’ve used it 3 times so I’ve already made my money back. Very easy process- just pick up your ticket at the box office and they send it to your phone.

If I’m still alive I might try to grab The Happy Fits on the 18th.

Also seeing State Champs, Midtown, The Movie Life, and Foals in Boston/NYC

See you at Foals! I'll be at the Boston concert too.

Foals will be electric!!! It’s been too long

Dent7777 t1_ixdyl9j wrote

Tbh I hope it's not too electric! Gotta say I didn't love the most recent album. Everything earlier was fire.

They’ll be at Adjacent next spring too so they might have some more gigs then!

Not at UT!

I know it's not Dec, but L.S. Dunes (Anthony Green + personnel from Thursday, Coheed, and MCR) at the church on Saturday has been sold out for a grip. Should be a rager.

henren44 OP t1_ixama9n wrote

I debated seeing that show but I’m at Menzingers instead

They had somebody cool opening for them, right?

Edit: Touché Amoré. Weird bill, but they rip

Debating both Dinosaur Jr / GBV (12/2) & Modest Mouse (12/15).

Going to Mark Normand (12/4).

Pretty slow December.

Got tickets for both They Might Be Giants shows in January though. Excited for that as they are my favorite live band and they are finally playing UT over the TLA.

sylvatron t1_ixagmi4 wrote

I really want to see Modest Mouse but $200 is too much.

2

ProbablyAtDialysis t1_ixahghp wrote

That's what they are going for now? Well that makes my decision easier. I was hoping for a GA.

EDIT: $180 from LiveNation direct? Fuck that noise. I love "The Lonesome Crowded West" enough I might look at Stubhub a few hours before, but otherwise I'll stay home for that. Was thinking more like $50 tops.

baldude69 t1_ixax060 wrote

The days of $50 Modest Mouse shows are sadly long over, my friend. I remember seeing them play Mermaid Fest in 2005 for free. Different times

1

sciencefaire t1_ixaylu2 wrote

I thought we were over the expensive modest mouse ticket era and back to cheap tickets 🤣

1

baldude69 t1_ixb055r wrote

Until they break up Live Nation/Ticketmaster, I don’t think cheap tickets will be a thing for premium bands, sadly

1

iamcharleswysocki t1_ixd2r82 wrote

Blame the scalpers. The original price was about that b/c I got two tix back in Sept. for $118 total after fees.

1

baldude69 t1_ixdo7je wrote

That’s closer to what I paid to see them play August 2021

1

henren44 OP t1_ixam6xb wrote

Really?! That’s wild. They’re on the Fillmore Club Pass

3

porkchameleon t1_ixd6smt wrote

That alone was worth it, well done.

1

henren44 OP t1_ixdjkmr wrote

Sadly I won’t make it, as I’ll be on my Foals east coast run. MM can be hit or miss live so I’m hoping the gamble will be in my favor

2

benifit t1_ixceooh wrote

Those are the resale prices. Still too much though. I think the base price (no fees) was 50

ITT: what a shit fucking list (not as in "shit fucking", but as in "shit list").

This November was pretty great so far (AFI, Midnight x Kreator, W.A.S.P., Amon Amarth with another stacked bill), December shows are lackluster for someone with a refined taste like me.

Gogol is playing Brooklyn Bowl (will be missing that one due to geopolitical reasons for the first time in 15 years), but that was pretty much it on my radar.

Still trying to get Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran tickets and secure the lottery for a one man show in Japan next year, so I'll be focusing on that.

Enjoy the bands I've never heard of!

“Upset”, yeah, right. I have friends and family on both sides of the conflict, so me giving money to any cause for either side potentially puts them in mortal danger (which they are in already, I just don’t want to have my money anywhere near it).

Also, on a personal note, the band was always preaching “mama diaspora” and shit, but jumped to “Kill Russians” too quickly for my taste.

Not a crime, eh?
