She literally strolled up on me while I was hanging on my stoop. Had a box of candy with her didn’t think anything of it. We talk for awhile, she says let me add you on Instagram. She uses my phone to follow herself on my IG - little did I know she turned post notifications on so I would see every time she posted.

Used to follow her stuff all the time, and always thought to myself - what good marketing.

Didn’t realize she was such an icon. I got off at Suburban Station once and on my way out she blocked my way and started dancing with me to try to get me to buy candy and singing “buy some of my candy white boy” to the tune of “Play that Funky Music”.

I danced with her until we went 180 degrees and then I could escape lol! She was so mad that I didn’t buy any candy.

I used to buy peanut M&Ms from her whenever I'd see her on the sub.

Haven't seen her since pre-pandemic but glad to see she's still out there doing well for herself.

anyone see abbot elementary? why does it feel that ms Teagues would be a great substitute as the candy lady. I think we found a new Philadelphia person to put on Abbot Elementary. Cameo from the Candy Lady.

holy shit I remember her. I’d go with my grandma to the Terminal all the time and she would ALWAYS be out there saying “penny candy ?!” in that like shrill voice. My grandma would give her money but never actually take any candy haha. She’d yell “thank you!” and “bless you!” as you walked down the entire block.

This is such a good profile! I'm so glad she's doing well, was just thinking the other day that it's been a minute since I'd seen her around.
