I need help, was trying to tell a friend about this guy I used to see around Rittenhouse/Fitler square area. Rode a weird looking bike, and always had custom painted tee shirts dedicated to his two dogs? I often saw him start to randomly curse at people he encountered. This was between 2015-2018? Anybody remember that guy?

(EDIT) I guess I should clarify I would love a backstory on that guy if anybody knows.

(EDIT 2) - Person is "Far Out Mitch". Now I can continue to tell my friend a story about something they probably don't care about anyways! lol. Thanks everyone.

I don't want to assume, but he definitely wasn't white, and looked to be eastern Asian, yes.

Dudes name is Mitch. He’s in the Wash West area now. I see him all the time and give him a “what’s up Mitch” he always nods and occasionally preaches about a topic (or swear word) he has on the mind.

We briefly worked together at the Saladworks that was on 11th between walnut and locust. He was almost immediately fired because he got really intense about extra croutons on a Caesar salad.

"Far out" Mitch. He used to have a website selling his artwork but it isn't active anymore.

Is this different from the guy that always had his two dogs (pugs?) in his bike's front basket and puts sunglasses on them and rides around?

Yes I have seen this person, out at The John Heinz Wildlife Refuge; and his bike with pugs in the front bike basket! Sadly I heard that man had died several years ago 😟

Will someone make a coffee table/art book/monster manual/guide book of all the "characters" of Philadelphia? List their stats and habitat. Maybe list them by decade or area.

(don't actually make this because I don't want people to get harassed but lets imagine this cool book)

Far Out Mitch?

Seen him semi-recently in Washington Square/Midtown area, no bike or dogs, though.

That’s the guy! What’s his story? Do you know?

Someone who claimed to know him told me that he had a TBI at some point. He used to come into seger dog park and kick dogs that got too close to his (untrained) dogs. Usually while chain smoking. Don't know his "story" but he is not pleasant to be around.

I did see a flyer he made that one of his dogs was killed by a pitbull out on the street - probably a couple years back.

Don't know him personally, but what I heard was that he's an eccentric artist who is... far out.

You say he has a weird looking bike, is it like a penny farthing or something else?
