Make sure you go IN to the shelters- do not just call, they are terribly overcrowded and overworked and can and do miss or confuse information. Do not wait for a call from them, keep calling/going in.

That is great advice, I will pass it on to the owners. I know they have definitely gone in person to at least a few shelters.
