Hey guys I live on the edges of Newbold in South Philly. I noticed my water seemed to be shut off around 5pm. I took a shower around 4 pm. So it clearly happened very recently. I texted my landlord about it and he said he's on the road traveling but it's happening to "everyone" and to try to contact PWD. I assume when he says everyone he mean the whole building.

I went to the PWD website hoping there would be some kind of announcement sort of things, like "Customers in X area are experiencing a water outage due to a pipe bursting" something along those lines but they didn't have anything like that and there's basically an emergency hotline or their regular office hours phone. I don't think this is an emergency, and it's after hours, besides water is included in my building so it's not like I have an account.

Anyone happen to know anything about this?

Off topic but what is the deal with that? I use to get breakfast there with my parents when they visit cuz it was so close. I was never especially fond of the food there but it will do, but my parents are old and all the nice eateries and pubs on Passyunk scare them because they can't deal with anything modern.

My dad asks me about it every time they visit. We're forced to go to Ihop now because they can't handle anything else.

That's kind of a shame, I feel like the location was good and there's parking, the food wasn't bad it just wasn't anything special either. If they just bothered to spruce the place up... oh well.

We should allow mixed use residential over commercial to be built there with the understanding we get the diner back.

I looked it up once after Philly Brewing named a beer after the neighborhood- it’s a fairly new neighborhood- like spring arts
