This morning, I was sitting in the center lane at a red light. Easton road and Cheltenham. Driver in the right lane starts drifting into the intersection. Nothing new there. I figured he was going to blow through the red right before it changed. Nope, he didn't wait that long. Then another car went through at speed right behind him. They didn't even slow down. The lights in the other directions were still green.
I've been seeing people cross the double yellow to cut in front of traffic waiting at the red light on MLK Drive for months. I'm not talking about cutting in front of one car, or sneaking up into a left-turn lane. I'm talking about passing multiple cars to cut in front of the one in front and go straight. Yesterday morning someone did it on Kelly drive, passing at least a dozen cars, on a curve, where they couldn't see that there was oncoming traffic in that lane!
Philly driving was always bad, but since the pandemic it has become downright psychotic.
