There is a kitten stuck at the top of the underpass at N Hancock St & Fairmount Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19123. It seems like it is stuck and meows loudly at any passer by.

Last seen at roughly 6:15 PM

We unfortunately don't have a 15ft ladder to go up and get him, but if there are any NoLibs people who know how to help this animal please comment.

We are calling SPCA, and are on hold for a long ng time.

UPDATE: We got a tall ladder and tried to get him to come down. He was too scared to get in the carrier. Someone from a cat rescue org is coming tomorrow with a trap.

Thanks for your responses and to the Mods who let me in post here!

Update 1/16: The cat has been rescued from the underpass and is staying with a friend. They are searching lost cat postings around the area and if there are no responses will be put up for adoption. If you know someone who recently lost a cat, share this picture and let's get this little guy home ☺️.

Not from the city so not sure if this is helpful. But when my cat was stuck in a tree I was able to rent a ladder from home depot. They don't all have tool rental though.

Unfortunately, SPCA, Fire Dept, etc...all the places people think they should call in these circumstances will not do anything. Post to PHL Community Cats on Facebook, or some other, local, cat/pet pages. There are usually people there who are willing/able to help or get help for cats in distress like this. It pretty much always falls to the rescues & local community to help out, sadly.

im not coming into this section to everyone else saying "EAT MEAT BECAUSE IT'S GOOD!!!" and before you say that that is what i'm doing, im saying that people really dont appreciate you shoving something in their face that, guess what. they dont give a shit about. and it really isnt relevant right now. there is a difference between saving an animal from a building and eating different. oh and some people actually like eating meat because it tastes good. myself included. so please stop.

I’m not saying I don’t care about animals. It just isn’t appropriate to talk about eating plants n shit when a cat is in danger. And there isnt much of a difference between saving an animal from a highway and a slaughterhouse. One become a good meal in somebodies stomach and the other becomes a meal in a predators stomach. And to answer your very strange question, no you couldnt torture a human that would give you a life sentence. and doing that to an animal sucks too and shouldn’t happen but people are gonna do it anyway. Some people don’t give a shit and that sucks. But there’ll always be people out there like that and we can’t change that. Oh and fake meat tastes like shit. To me at least. It also seems to be the general consensus outside vegans.

I’m curious would calling the fire department work? Is that something they would help with?

Project Meow is for West Philly but if you call them they'll have the number and contact info for who can help you

So you’re not trying to convince me to go vegan? What’s the point then? How are you actually helping animals? Seems like this is more about you feeling superior than actually making any change if you don’t actually care about converting people.
