Interested in getting into the scene here! How can I discover and keep up to date with these sorts of events? Are there local bands, event spaces, or bars that I should follow on Instagram? Local bands and events/parties this small are generally fairly elusive online and you need to know who to follow in order to get more information.

I already follow (Instagram): Viberiummusic, kungfunecktie, 4333collective, cycleofabusepa but that's embarrassingly little

I want to be able to attend small events on a more regular basis and get to know other people who also regularly attend these sorts of events.

If you can help, or you are part of any of these scenes - thank you in advance for your help!

First Unitarian Church, 21st and Chestnut. Often has music and has a rich history. Gorilla Biscuits are there February 25th with Philly OG punk rock Pagan Babies.

Thought maybe they reunited for Halloween shows or something. I take it they are referencing something else...

My advice would be start going to shows regularly at KFN as a starting point and make friends for word of mouth events- it won’t take you long to meet one or two people and it opens up pretty quickly from there.

Goth night at dolphin monthly. I’m not goth and have never gone so I can’t vouch for the quality.

Dave Kiss books some local bands (check out his socials) and already mentioned Century Bar.

Spoiler alert: most of local bands are absolute and total and utter garbage until you are about 3-4 PBR tallboys in.
