I’m absolutely convinced climate change has caused a seasonal shift by 1 month. It feels like it stays cooler longer in the spring and stays warmer longer in the fall than it used to.

I anecdotally agree with this. It feels like it stays warm later into October but doesn't truly get warm again until May.

I remember Halloweens as a kid in the 90s that were warm. I remember being overheated in costumes.

I definitely don't remember the warm Christmases and humid Januaries we've been having.

I remember and have photos of wearing winter coats stuffed under Halloween costumes in the 90s. It's definitely warmer later into the fall now.

Yeah wasn't saying Halloween is never cold. It usually is. I was just saying it being warm in October isn't that far fetched

The effects climate change has on our winters is still being studied alot. The reality is, La Nina has been present more often than not recently and that tends to mute our snowfall chances and generally favor warmer patterns.

What is for sure happening is that climate change is causing more extreme weather in our region. Whether it be warmer or colder.

Based on purely recollection, I feel I'm inclined to disagree with you. I agree that it feels warmer from summer to fall (and into winter), but I don't register a shift for the early half.

i agree but i think it is closer to two months, at least in autumn. thanksgiving was like a nice late september day.

According to weather underground, the high temp on Thanksgiving was about 1 degree above average and the low was 2 degrees above average

.. Which is about 20 degrees below the average for a late September day

Edit: didn't realize that the calendar view moved to a central jersey location. For phl it was about 4 degrees above average on Thanksgiving and within 1 degree of the low.

yeah i mean looking at the data is the most accurate way to do it. maybe i was just skinnier as a kid and everything felt colder?

I think it's just hard to judge between seasonal changes based on feeling because we acclimate to it. Those first few mid fifties days of the year always feel freezing but by the end of February , hovering around low-mid 40 feels pretty moderate

yeah probably. also, maybe we're just telling our generations version of "walked both ways to school in the snow"

I ride a motorcycle and follow weather very closely because of it, so I can plan my commutes, parking, and necessary gear. There is a noticeable shift in temperatures and seasons as the years have gone by.

This is 100% the case, I've been noticing this since at least 2012-2013. October 2016 had a stretch where the high was beteen 75-80 for a week and half straight with 2 or 3 days being above 80.
