My wife is a Spanish teacher who is looking to tutor a few hours a week. We have posted flyers at libraries, Starbucks and the like, but no one has responded to any of them.

I understand that it may be better to post a flyer on-line, but after doing several searches trying to find a place where we can post, we've come up with nothing.

So, my question is, is there a local (Philadelphia) based forum/site where we can post such a flyer advertising her availability to tutor.

Thanks.

Definitely on neighborhood fb groups and see if you can get someone to post them in school groups.

Thanks. Although sadly, we don't do FaceBook. But the school group idea may be good if we can find someone that is on such a group.

Not being on social media and trying to promote a small business may be at odds

I hear you. But I hate FaceBook.

It's not online, but the Community College of Philadelphia may have some postboards worth sticking.

I just realized it may also be worthwhile to advertise to Spanish speaking ESL students there to tutor in English.

Research making a free ‘Google My Business’ page. This will show up on local web and Google map searches for whatever words or phrases are in your business name and description. So, use target search words early and often on the page.

You don’t have to display your exact business address. Get a free Google voice number, have it forwarded to your cell, and post it as your phone number (for privacy reasons).

To gain credibility and rise in the search rankings, have those that have used your service or can vouch to your sills give you a 5 star review.

(I have a little consulting service and get all my business online.)

Facebook neighborhood groups are great and there’s a ton of them. Neighborhood CDCs, cafes?
