If you’re seeing her on Sunday or any day next week, bring her a few oranges with the flowers. It’s the Lunar New Year. The reason why Chinese people eat them on that day and hand them to out to family and friends is because the Chinese pronunciation for oranges sounds like gold. Asians are very superstitious.

Chinese people don’t like the number 4 because it sounds like death where 8 is infinite

Whole foods has a decent flower selection for a kind of generic, not specifically floral shop.

Trader Joe's has really cute mini daffodils and tulips that are in nice clear glass vases. They're plants, not cut flowers, though.

Go to your local florist. They order fresh flowers daily. You don’t need to go anywhere special. There’s probably a florist within walking distance from your home.

Most florists can acquire most varieties of Flowers year round as they ship internationally. Even if something isn't available from a local grower, florists usually receive shipments from South America and the Dutch markets. Pretty Standard.

Ah yes, the ol' go get me some flowers in the middle of winter so you're searching for awhile and I don't have to see you anymore. Oldest trick in the book
