Only in America will there be controversy over what was used to plug a bullet hole and no controversy whatsoever about why there’s a bullet hole in a municipal water tank.

Was thinking the same thing, almost verbatim. Thanks for saving me some typing.

“The August 25 violation notice said that a stick from a tree was inserted into a bullet hole in the water tank and “sealed with an unknown epoxy or resin-like material” about 8.5 feet above the ground. The DEP said these are “improper materials and improper technique” as they did not meet NSF certification requirements.”

“Lawrenceville residents have continued to call into question the quality and safety of their drinking water, just as the DEP has issued violation notices for the Borough’s improper maintenance and reporting of the water system.”

You say “improper “ materials. I say “organic and earth friendly “ materials. Do you hate the earth?

Feces, fungi, and poo are organic and earth friendly but I don't want to drink them :D

Well the “sealed with an unknown epoxy or resin-like material” bit is probably not "organic and earth friendly"

No no no. You get wood from home depot to repair holes. Not branches that were outside that could’ve had animals and dirt and stuff on it. The only proper repair materials come from a store staffed by highly trained individuals in a sterilized environment.

Wood gets wet swells to the shape of the hole and seals it. Not everything requires a billion dollar research project to fix.

Theres bacteria on the stick and chemicals in the epoxy. I wouldn’t drink it.

Oh jeez, have you seen pictures of the inside of NYC potable water mains? The solution to pollution is dilution and I absolutely guarantee that water is halogenated as all municipal water in America is. Halogenating the water absolutely would kill any infinitesimal bacteria on that stick. There’s more bacteria at the end of your kitchen tap than there is on the end of that stick.

Excellent natural solution since the wood will expand with the water for a tight seal. No solution for bullets launched by idiots.

Except it introduces bacteria directly into the water stream. It was also sealed around the stick with questionable epoxy like material.
