It's Christmas in February

They have been opened so some of them might be empty or the porch pirate / shady delivery guy didn't like the contents. Either call the cops or treat you to a late christmas gift.

Looks like an amazon driver tucked away their prize until after shift. Call the local fuzz to surveil the area for awhile. 🕵️‍♂️

Were they all in 1 random spot or on random porches

Literally fell off the truck huh? Can you take it to an Amazon center, or report the location to them?

Can you check and see if there’s a brake rotor in there? Mine has been delayed…

I’m currently missing 3. Perhaps they’re mine.

We were such shut ins during the height of the pandemic that we ultimately got enough deliveries that we had two of the giant Amazon totes. Kind of embarrassing but they really come in handy

Sarah, stop ordering shit off Amazon. We don't need another lace doily for the dining room table in the basement.

Easiest way to make your quota. Just throw them on the sides of the road.

Do whatever you want but do not call the cops. Fk Amazon

Oof. That sucks. Gotta contact Amazon, a local post office or a non-emergency police line to handle (probably police so I wouldn't have to babysit the packages). I wouldn't touch or take them (possible trap) and definitely wouldn't open (federal crime).

SweRakii t1_j8hpjcm wrote

That tote is the one they give drivers at the beginning of their shift. The driver might have taken it out to get to another package and forgot to put it back in. Such is the life of a very rushed delivery driver.

Good on you for letting them know but he'll likely get in trouble for it.

More likely the Amazon driver schlepped that carrier tote near an apartment building or business complex and instead of trying to carry all of them at once to different locations. They may have set up a "return" point to alleviate some weight.

But yes... Call the police.

Check the addresses and make the deliveries.

It's Amazon's new free work policy.

This is like one of those posts where they find an old safe - you gotta open them and post the contents or you get arrested.

CodeMonkeyX t1_j8jk6yh wrote

How do they get away with it? I would assume most people would report this to amazon, then they just have to look up the tracking number and see instantly what driver dumped them.

Although that being said, I was just thinking how would I contact anyone at Amazon about this. It's become very hard to reach anyone useful there anymore. I guess a chatbot and try to convince it to let me speak to a human.

Ok, so now I'm curious. If Amazon left a tote behind and a good Samaritan decides to take their time and deliver the packages themselves. Are you appreciative or weirded out? To be clear, in this scenario, the person doesn't ask for any compensation or complement. They explain, "I found these just left on X Street and decided not to leave them. Have a nice day, " and begins to walk away. I'm very curious as to what the reaction would be.

symm4try t1_j8jy0hc wrote

Yeah just this morning I had a dude dump a package at our house.. he’s not even in the right area. I looked at the street name and that neighborhood is 5 minutes away. We handed it back to him and he goes oh! -goes and puts it at our neighbor’s door- o well. Not our problem now

lilassbitchass t1_j8l4zfy wrote

The same question can be asked for a lot of jobs tbh. I don’t know really what would lead someone to do that, just for the simple fact that you’re damaging packages and potentially fucking over people who maybe can’t get refunded for the stuff they ordered. One guy did it 2x and kept his job. Peak season is super stressful and the days are long but it’s never that deep. I actually really enjoy the work, I’m by myself all day long and can go to bathroom or stop to grab food and eat on my own time all paid. Some days have been rough but I just can’t imagine the headspace of someone who could do something like that
