Unless you're a dad. Then you are out front with a beer watching the horizon like you'll fight the tornado or something.

Hmm I'm guessing its because of tornados. The bathroom is the place to go.

Oh OK thank you you’re the first person to explain it. I’ve always wanted to see a tornado however I’d be too scared to live somewhere called tornado alley or whatever it’s called. Best wishes to everyone that does it must be scary to hole up in your bathroom or basement hoping for the best.

Actual Midwesterners don't worry about tornadoes until they're confirmed to be nearby, and even then it depends how it looks outside. I don't know any of my friends who even mention tornado warnings when they're active.

Bad storms started last night. My dog usually isn’t bothered by them. But last night he was freaking out. He even want to leave the house (like go out) since he thought it was indoors. He walked up to the door and it started hailing on the windows. He turned around and noped outta that.

Context: resident of tornado ally. We live in an apartment so the safest bet for us is pilling into the tub because tornados can't reach you there /s

I'm currently watching my news station in Memphis report a catastrophic tornado north of the city. Happy Spring 🌸
