Well…. I went to Ukraine on February 28th in 2022 to get my sister in law out and found out when I was in Dobropillja that my now ex wife had me go on my merry way without telling me that her sister was already on her way out of Ukraine…. Now I kinda just travel aimlessly and depressed since then to places that like no one goes to (idiotic now in the sense of going places cause I’m lonely and then not anywhere I could possibly meet anyone)

Just a wild guess, but the only times I've seen people complain about it was to do with censorship. Specifically, censorship of alt-right (Nazi) imagery.

France and ukraine were close to 1/8 of the entire board at one point, it was insane.

There are some things that make me feel proud of the Internet. Not often, but sometimes. And r/place is definitely one(uh, two?) of them.

Bravo to everyone who participated in the event(maybe not raiders), it was a grand show of teamwork. Actually, maybe even thank you to the raiders, as the destruction only served as a vehicle for rebirth.

The first Place was great. The second one became cancerous with fanbases of youtubers and influencers flooding it and disrupting everywhere, and that one small time Twitch streamer who got his chat to spam his logo.
