I feel like there might be some fishing line on the backside. The loops on the chain is pulling slightly left instead of falling straight down. It was well executed.

Might be a strange thing to hone in on but, those are some nice boots. Looks like Victorian walking boots with no zipper in the photo at least. Been trying to find something like that for my wife. Any tips on where to look?
