What telescope and eyepieces did you use?

It's a PowerSeeker 127EQ, with a 20 mm eyepiece

I was looking at one of those a few weeks ago for my son's Christmas gift, but then a 2nd-hand 8" XT8 dobsonian showed up for sale at a price I could not pass by.
Still getting the hang of things. I can just make out the cloud banding with a 10mm eyepiece, but the moons are nothing like that. Got to keep playing around.
I guess I need better eyepieces and maybe filters for all this city light.
This game is gonna get pricey very quick. 😁

The moons in OP's image are out of focus - they're not that big compared to Jupiter.
Do yourself a favor and don't go wild spending money on new equipment; just wait for a calm, clear night. Jupiter and its moons are a bright object, so you don't need anything fancy to get a good view - a good eyepiece might make things a bit clearer, but filters (and especially fancy expensive ones) won't do much because your biggest enemy to a clear view is actually the atmosphere.

Thank you. I was going to say this exact thing. Zero percent chance those are Jupiter's moons.
