I think the idea is that it's a random assortment of unrelated identity groups (2 races, 1 religion, 2 immigration statuses, 1 sexual preference) in a 2x3 matrix that doesn't seem to fit together. I guess it's a little funny imagining them mixed and matched?

I'm going to make an attempt... But those of us who don't give a shit about these attributes of a person might find this funny because others do. Everyone wants to be a special butterfly but the reality is we are all trying to make sense of a world that gives no shits about how you feel about anything.

Are we laughing at this image being abstract because we have no way of telling what the artist/photographer is thinking. Or is this a deeper thing where i have to figure out if the sign is actually real. Only time will tell.
