Do you know what the rivers club is actually like?

A floor for athletics, a floor that's half offices with glass walls and a fine dining restaurant and bar. Nice place, Duquesne club is definitely a much nicer place though.

Rivers club is literally inside an office building. The Duquesne club is the entirety of a beautiful historical building with much more dining/banquet space, all of which is architecturally beautiful.

I've spent time in both kitchens. It's not close when it comes to "prestige" that the Duquesne club is head and shoulders above the rivers club.

I only know this from working kitchens and doing deliveries. Duquesne clubs kitchen is giant. Rivals kennywood.

I keep getting offered the rivers club because I'm the right age/demo/job title to get it but I'm also not committing a significant portion of my income to a club when I'm married.

I'm a member. There is no upfront fee. It's about $200 for the all-in membership, which includes events, gym, and dining. You can get it down to about $80 per month if you take out some of the options. The chef changed sometime during COVID and the food isn't what it used to be, so I recently dropped the dining option.

Not sure what your criteria is, but the Duquesne Club would probably be at the top regardless.

Harvard Yale Princeton (HYP) Club accepts members who didn’t even graduate from said universities. Had to consolidate given the lack of Pittsburgh dwelling alumni. They’ll take anyone’s money. It’s pretty nice. It’s got that whole rich Mahogany vibe going for it.
