Hello I(30m) am new to puttsburgh(4 months) and I am looking for any parks preferably on the north side of Pittsburgh for parks containing equipment for bodyweight workouts. Pull up bars, parallel or dip bars, angled benches. I know NYC is littered with such types of parks. Does Pittsburgh have any parks containing bodyweight calisthenics equipment?

Seconding Highland Park. They have a set on the reservoir drive circle. Also Riverview Trail in Frick Park using the entrance off of Beechwood where Blue Slide Playground is.

Frick Park in Squirrel Hill has a lot to offer for calisthenics. Even a lot of hills to walk or run up. That's not exactly on the North side though but it's so nice it might be worth the extra travel.

They've got pull up bars with varying grips and a platform that even lets you do inverted rows, parallel bars, chest press, ab things, etc. Worth going to at least once to check it out. When I first moved here it was my haven. Plug in 'blue slide park' in your GPS and just follow the paved path into the park and you'll find all of the equipment. Also do explore the dirt paths when it's a little less muddy, they are lovely and would be a great workout if you like to run or even walk.

Thank you everyone for your fantastic feedback! All contributions have been valid and exciting. Today we checked out Frick Park. 19 min drive. Easy route, easy to find. Parking was a putz but not too bad. We entered the park by the blue slide playground as instructed and super easy to find the workout equipment. It was fricken awesome. You can't beat the winter of Pittsburgh 2022-2023. I LOVE Frick Park. Cant wait to spend many a saturday/Sunday there. Droveby Highland park but did not see the work out stuff but definitely need to explore there. Thanks to all excited to see what else. I have been to North park but not the right area I guess. I am excited as heck to check out that workout area.

Very nice to hear you had a great time at Frick! And what a lovely day for it no less! The parks both in and around Pittsburgh are why I have stayed here for so long. I hope you have an excellent time exploring them all.

Glad you found them! Highland Park has 2 circles that surround it but you have to drive into the park proper off of N Highland Ave to drive around Reservoir Drive. The activities are interspersed between shelters.

Reservoir Dr can be easily mistaken for Lake Drive, which surrounds the park in whole, not just the reservoir. Lake Dr loop has a stocked pond, dog park and swimming facilities but does not require you to enter the park to access. You want Reservoir Dr. Just type in 120 Reservoir Dr on GPS, it’ll take you to the first activity.

There's one up in Fineview with fitness equipment. I'm not sure exactly what they all have, but worth checking out as it's right in the North Side.
